Did you know that two of my three wedding photography packages include a complimentary engagement session? That’s right! Before your wedding, we’ll reserve a day to traipse around beautiful places and take engagement photos of you and your love. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and gives you time to get comfortable in front of the camera. And you know the best part of working with a CT engagement photographer? I know all the best, most beautiful places to have your session! Here are 5 of my favorite engagement session locations. Which one could you picture yourself in?
We’re starting off strong with Harkness Memorial State Park! This 304-acre park is a historical preservation site with so many gorgeous backdrops for engagement photos. Whether you want photos in a field, forest, on the beach, or alongside gorgeous historical buildings, Harkness will have something for you. And it’s pretty in every season! But I saved the best thing for last: Harkness is dog-friendly! If you want to include your pet in your engagement photos, Harkness is the perfect place for you.
Elizabeth Park is another one of my favorite places to visit. The park has some of the most beautiful gardens throughout the summer. It’s especially well known for its rose garden, which is in full bloom in June. So if you’re looking for summer engagement photos, I highly recommend Elizabeth Park! The only thing to note is that you must obtain a permit to photograph there. But not to worry! The best part of working with an experienced CT engagement photographer is that I know my way around! Getting a permit for Elizabeth Garden is a piece of cake for me.
Would I truly be a CT engagement photographer if I didn’t suggest Downtown Mystic? With adorable shops and a beautiful view of the water, Mystic is the perfect place for a quintessentially New England engagement session. Plus, you can easily turn your engagement session into a date night! We can stop in Mystic Draw Bridge Ice Cream or Sift Bake Shop for some extra cute photos. However, Mystic can be busy during the summer, and we’ll want to check and make sure no special events are happening at the time of your session!
Any fans of Gilmore Girls here? Oh boy, do I have the perfect place for you! Historic Weatherfield is an adorable small town with historic buildings and charming streets. There’s also a small cove if you want some photos with water in the background. Webb Barn is one of my favorite places in Weatherfield. It works as a beautiful backdrop for photos and has a beautiful garden in the warmer months!
Yale’s campus is one of my favorite places to explore as a CT engagement photographer. Beautiful in every season, Yale has some of the most aesthetic architecture in the state. It is classic and timeless. And, as a bonus, you have a ton of delicious pizza options for your post-session dinner.
I hope at least one of these locations caught your eye! I’ve shot multiple engagement sessions at each of these locations, and they always turn out beautifully. So tell me, what do you have in mind for your engagement session? Whether you pick one of the locations above or choose to go somewhere else, I would love to capture the magic of this special season. Contact me to inquire about your wedding and engagement photos!
