As a Connecticut wedding photographer, I never get tired of hearing my couple’s love story. In fact… it might be my favorite part of my job. (Next to giving you incredible images to remember your favorite day, of course.) Jacquey and Austin met through mutual friends in Boston. After coincidentally meeting a few more times, Austin officially asked Jacquey out, and the rest is history! For their September wedding at Jonathan Edwards Winery, Jacquey and Austin included so many personal details, including making their own wine bottle labels to serve as table numbers!
Jacquey and Austin got ready separately, spending quality time with their friends and family before their first look. When I asked them what the most emotional part of their wedding day was, they both agreed it was their first look and exchanging private vows! This moment is always so special, and I was so honored to capture it for them! After 10 years of photographing weddings, I’ve learned how to fade into the background during these intimate moments so the couple hardly realizes I’m there.
After their first look, Austin waited for Jacquey at the altar. Jacquey’s mom and dad escorted her down the aisle, and you could see the joy and pride on their faces as they placed her hand in Austin’s! During the ceremony, one of the couple’s friends shared the story of how Jacquey and Austin met. It was such a unique and fun addition to their wedding ceremony! As the couple walked back up the aisle after the ceremony, they were greeted by their mini golden doodle, Leo, looking dapper in a dog-sized tuxedo!
I always enjoy shooting weddings at Jonathan Edwards Winery because of the unique backdrops for couples portraits! Jacquey, Austin, and I snuck away to grab some pictures in the vast vineyards, enjoying the privacy they offered to capture their portraits. We even spent some time in the Barrel Room, a unique room in the Jonathan Edwards Winery that is stacked floor to ceiling with old barrels!
After taking portraits, Jacquey and Austin joined their guests in the large white tent for their wedding reception! The couple performed a beautifully choreographed first dance and laughed their way through speeches. After dinner, the dance floor opened. Jacquey and Austin later told me that the energy on the dance floor was their favorite part of the day – and I must agree! The joy was palpable, and even the couple’s grandparents danced through the night! I couldn’t help but smile as I captured these irreplaceable memories for Jacquey, Austin, and their guests.
I had so much fun photographing Jacquey and Austin’s wedding at Jonathan Edwards Winery. There is something so humbling about being trusted to document your most important memories, and it is not a responsibility I take lightly! I put my entire heart and soul into my work to ensure you can be fully present on your wedding day. When Jacquey and Austin received their edited gallery, they told me that I “made their wedding day effortless.” That’s my whole goal! If you’re looking for a Connecticut wedding photographer who will make your wedding day feel easy, I’d love to work with you!
